HMC has already helped hundreds of young people to start their careers successfully with professional qualifications. Up to 22 apprenticeships in five different occupations are permanently staffed at Hamburg Messe und Congress. We offer training in event technology, event management, office management and IT. Another ideal springboard for a career is the dual business administration degree, specializing in exhibition, congress and event management.

The apprenticeships start in August each year, in some cases also in February. The commercial apprentices and dual degree students not only work in the organizational and design departments, but also in the technical functions of HMC. In addition, they gain exposure to the service departments and administrative processes. Future technicians mostly work in the exhibition technology teams during their apprenticeship, but also learn about event organization and business management.

“Hamburg’s best training companies”: HMC gets the five-star award for the third successive year

The high standard of its training was officially confirmed once again. In the competition “Hamburg’s best training companies 2019” the HMC again won the five-star award, the best there is, following its successes in 2015 and 2017. This is the third time in a row for HMC, because the company only takes part every second year. The competition is based on a scientific model developed by the HR expert Professor Werner Sarges from Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg. His analysis is based on a survey of apprentices and training staff at the participating firms.
